What are some good beginner street motorcycles?
Posted on Apr 02, 2010 under snowmobile insurance | 7 Commentswell…im almost 17/a girl.
ive been around motorcycles since i was a rugrat. Ive been totally fascinated and im considering getting one of my own.
Ive ridden on them before but always behind someone. Ive ridden jetskiis, snowmobiles and drive. I love things like that. so anyways… id like to know all that I should posibly know about riding and what type of bike to get. Im no taller than 5"0 tall. i weigh around 93-102 lbs. but ill tell you im not a total retard with these things. i learn quickly and im responsible.
Im not willing to spend more than 10 grand.
and how much would insurance etc. be for that?
any help and information/tips on how to get started is greatly appreciated
Firstly, congratulations! Buying a first bike is always exciting. My personal favorite beginner bike is the Kawasaki Ninja 250R: It has all the power you will need, and is small and light enough for the beginner rider, not to mention that it is very inexpensive ($4300 brand new) and looks darn good! In Utah, it costs (according to progressive) about $200 a year to insure for a 17 year old girl. If the sportbike isn’t your thing, the Honda Rebel is a good one too, though not as well built as the Kawi.

Are the motors from the 4 cylinder yamaha snowmobiles and the 4 cylinder pwcs the same?
Posted on Apr 02, 2010 under snowmobile motor | 1 CommentI am currently looking at a yamaha PWC (personal water craft) it is a 2008 yamaha FX cruiser. The snowmobile is a 2008 yamaha RX1. I was just wondering (since both of these motors are 4 cylinder and 4 stroke) if the motors are the same.
thanks in advance!
first off thank you for your answer and that is true of varoius vehichles. i am not wondering wether or not it will bolt in. I just know that the 4 cylinder yamaha is a great motor and was just wondering if the same motor would be in the PWC and therefore that would have the good motor.
Ya know thats a good question, because Yamaha, and countless other companys will use the same engine in several applications, and tend to keep using the same proven designs over and over again, so it wouldent suprise me to find out they were the same engine with a few mod’s. but keep in mind, a mod as in changing the position of a motor mount is as easy as a key stroke on a auto cad program and C&C machine, as in, is it the same engine? yes. will it bolt in? no.

Why does my friend Donald snowmobile suck so much?
Posted on Mar 26, 2010 under snowmobile parts | 2 CommentsHe has a Skidoo Summit 1000 and it seems to have every problem wrong with it. It has faulty wiring, and fuel and leaks coolant. Are there any good aftermarket parts to fix the skidoo up?
The Summit 1000 may be the worst sled SkiDoo ever made, but there are plenty of things you can do to make it run better - first, find out where the leaks are and if it’s in the hosing or connections simply get new stuff - hosing and clamps are pretty cheap. The wiring can be replaced pretty easily, it might be hard (or impossible) to find aftermarket electronics, but usually SkiDoo electronics don’t have much problem so your friend probably got the one in a hundred that has issues - just get a new OEM system. If you don’t know much about snowmobile mechanic work, find some redneck who likes engines or take it to a small ma-n-pa type shop that will be cheaper than the dealership. If the engine itself has leaks/issues you can take it to a machine shop and they can re-machine the surfaces that seal between the head and engine block.

im going to boot camp in 10 days and i want to know if they make enough if you want to buy a used snowmobile, atv and maybe dirtbike?
If you are in the marines, you will probably be deployed and moving around a lot. Where will you keep these things? Where will you use them?

what’s better a 2 cylinder or 3 cylinder snowmobile?
Posted on Mar 26, 2010 under snowmobile motor | 2 Commentsim looking into buying a 95 mach 1 800 Ive heard the tripple cylinders are bad motors cuz the middle cylinder goes bad is this true or just rummors?
For short length drag racing(500′), a twin is the best choice. For longer length racing, use a triple. The twin has more low down torque, meaning it will usually get a quicker start. Maximum power is developed sooner/quicker in a twin.
The triple motor takes longer to produce its maximum power. There is no better sound than a finely tuned triple motor screaming down a lake……
If the carburetors are properly tuned, then the chances of a meltdown are reduced.
