Snowmobiling is probably one of the most popular of all winter time activities. If you are one of the people who think that heaven can be found on the back of a snowmobile then you know that the US is home to some of the most beautiful snowmobiling sites in the world.

Michigan has always been a winter state and the proof positive is the hundreds if not thousands of people who travel to the state with their snowmobiles. The huge wooded areas in Michigan, particularly close to the lakes, make for some fun and excitement when one is riding their snowmobile.

Maine is one of the colder states in the US and is also home to a lot of snowfall each and every year. For some this means terrible roads and school cancellations. For others it means a beautiful place to take the snowmobile out. The heavily wooded areas surrounded by vast fields are perfect for those with their machines.

Colorado is known for many things, skiing and snowmobiling included. The mountain regions come alive in the winter months as people take to the slopes for all of their skiing action. The same is true for those with the snowmobiles as they tear up the landscape through the woods and open fields, spraying snow in every direction.

Washington State is beautiful all year round, but for the snowmobilers, there is no time like winter. The giant forests across the state give way to massive fields where a snowmobile has more than enough room to gain some high speed. The beauty of the area is not lost on these people who love to stop and snap a few pictures from the back of their machines.

Wyoming is perfect for those that love to rip across the landscape with a snowmobile. Besides being so beautiful one can hardly stand it, Wyoming caters to the snowmobile crowd in high fashion. There are camps all across the state that are setup only for people with snowmobiles and they fill up quickly early in the winter months.

Utah is made for sports like snowmobiling and there are more than enough people who are willing to take full advantage of the area. The vast open space seems to call the riders to this state where some of the finest views can be seen while taking the machine for a spin on a winter afternoon.

When you think snow you most certainly think of Alaska. That is why Alaska is home to one of the largest populations of snowmobile enthusiasts in the entire world. The early onset of winter and the wide open spaces make this state one of the best sites for snowmobiling in the world.

There is a lot more to Wisconsin than cheese, just ask anyone who happens to own a snowmobile. The mountains are a perfect haven for lovers of this past time, and people the world over come to this state to see the views and spray some snow.

New Hampshire is big on winter time activities and snowmobiling is one of the biggest of them. The ski resorts in the state have found a new market and they now cater directly to those that come to the area with their snowmobiles in tow.

Vermont has taken snowmobiling to the next step. The number of places that rent the machines and also offer some of the finest in areas to ride is proof positive of the beauty that Vermont has to offer. Make your reservations early or risk not having the chance to blow snow in this magical winter wonderland.

So here you have it: the ten best spots to snowmobile in the States. Pick one or more for your next vacation, and be sure to snowmobile safely!

Located in Northern Illinois just west of I-90 at Ill.Wisc. state line

Try this:

www.kz1300.com

Someone there would love to have it. Tell them you have an ebay auction going and let them bid.

Good luck.

That’s a cool and interesting old bike, but too complicated a restoration for anyone but an expert.

the topics I will name are things that really did happen to me over this year actually. Would you read any of them?

1) went to Mexico with family, snuck out of my hotel room every night to meet this guy and got wasted at the bar (everything was paid for) eventually found out he was a drug dealer.. my life went down hill from there.

2) can back to the United States, had good grades in school but fell for a badass, grades started to slip. Didn’t listen to my parents almost got sent to Juvie on more then one occasion.

reasons why i almost got sent
3) My parents are pretty wealthy, they bought a snowmobile. crashed it being stupid almost caused a reck b/c i slid out on the road.

4) Got bored took my moms credit card and went to the mall, charged 500 dollars on it.
aunt paid it off.

5) my grandpa and i don’t get along very will, heck my whole family pretty much hates me.
anyway me and my grandpa were arguing, he called me a "no class whore" when i’m really not.
got pissed though went to there house when they weren’t home took all their bottles of beer and throw them at the wall. (they almost had a whole frig filled) spray painted the walls too but has i left a fire started. the whiskey was flammable.. my grandpa called the cops.

would you read about any of these if I wrote a story on my experiences? (btw i’m 14)

None.
-Your stories lack intentions or goals as your motivation for your acts.
-You reactions are silly and childish.
- You don’t know how to control yourself.
With that said, why would I waist my time?

My question is, apart from drinking and driving, what other laws apply to cars and trucks on the lake? There certainly is no posted speed limit, so what laws apply? Just curious

Here in California, we have bears (cops) patrolling all waters, and you can be busted for ANY kind of reckless behavior, including driving a boat under the influence, speed, overload, and a HOST of other offenses, so common sense should be used at all times.

I THINK the same would be true on a frozen body of water.

I’m thinking about buying a used snowmobile before winter starts, but i don’t know what to look for when it comes to parts. My friend is selling his 1991 Arctic cat formula, but i’ve had bad luck with buying used items. What do I look for on a used snowmobile, part wise, to ensure it is an alright buy?

1. Make sure it runs! Note that since it hasn’t probably started in a while, this may take several trys.
2. Make sure the throttle doesn’t stick, and make sure the breaks work fine.
3. Check for belt condition (under the hood; the belt is obviously the big ol’ belt). If it is worn, this is typical, but it will cost a tiny bit to get a new one.
3. Check if it has been raced or crashed, as this means it probably has some problems.
4. IF the sled has a non-plastic gas tank, check for any rust, sediment, ect
5. Check the track. This is very expensive to replace. If it is torn in any way, don’t get the sled unless you want to dish out some dough.

Read the following messages, then (1) analysis the strengths and weaknesses of each sentence and (2) revise each document. The guidelines showed in the book is; The revised letter provides the requested information more clearly, in a more organized fashion, with a friendlier style, and with precise mechanics.

Message for Analysis
Message A

As an organization, the North American Personal Motorsports
Marketing Association has committed ourselves to helping our members—a diverse
group comprising of dealers of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, Snowmobiles,
and personal watercraft—achieve their business objectives. Consequently, our organization, which usually
goes under the initials NAPMMA, has the following aims, goals, and
objectives. Firstly, we endeavor to aid
or assist our members in reaching their business objectives. Second, NAPMMA communicates (“lobbying” in
slang terms) with local, state, and national governmental agencies and leaders
on issues of importance to our members. And lastly, we educate the motorsports public, that being current
motorsports vehicle owners, and prospective owners of said vehicles, on the
safe and enjoyable operation of they’re vehicles.

Here is my revised version:

The North American Personal Motorsports Association (NAPMMA) is an organization committed to helping our members achieve their business objectives. Our diverse group is comprised of dealers of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and personal watercraft. Together, NAPMMA lobbies with local, state, and national government agencies and leaders over the issues important to our members. We also educate the motorsports public of current and prospective owners of motorsports vehicles on the safe and enjoyable operation of their vehicles.

Sentences:

1. As an organization, the North American Personal Motorsports
Marketing Association has committed ourselves to helping our members—a diverse
group comprising of dealers of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, Snowmobiles,
and personal watercraft—achieve their business objectives.

Strengths: Strong verbs and adjectives that stand out to the reader – Diverse, committed, achieve.

Weaknesses: Run-on sentence. Too many details crammed into one sentence, making it very unfriendly to the reader. Separate and consolidate relevant thoughts into shorter, more concise sentences. Snowmobile should not be capitalized.

2. Consequently, our organization, which usually
goes under the initials NAPMMA, has the following aims, goals, and
objectives.

Strengths: There is a transition word at the beginning of the sentence to shift focus to what the organization does.

Weaknesses: NAPMMA can be placed in parentheses next to the full name of the organization to indicate that those initials are an AKA.
It is already indicated that the paragraph will describe who the organization is, and what their goals are, so it is not necessary to use “the following aims, goals, and objectives.”
“Consequently”… The goals are not a direct consequence of the details already given in the paragraph, so it would only confuse the reader.

3. Firstly, we endeavor to aid
or assist our members in reaching their business objectives.

Strengths: None. Unnecessary and redundant sentence, remove it.

Weaknesses: This information was given in the first sentence, it is only redundant to repeat it later on in the paragraph.

4. Second, NAPMMA communicates (“lobbying” in
slang terms) with local, state, and national governmental agencies and leaders
on issues of importance to our members.

Strengths: Using NAPMMA, since it has been introduced to the reader already.

Weaknesses: Lobbying is not a slang term, but is rather friendly to the common reader. Replace “communicates” with “Lobbies”, and do not mention that it is slang.
There is no reason to number these objectives. Remove, “second” and state the objective on its own. It will be a much stronger statement.

5. And lastly, we educate the motorsports public, that being current
motorsports vehicle owners, and prospective owners of said vehicles, on the
safe and enjoyable operation of they’re vehicles.

Strengths: safe and enjoyable operation of their vehicles… Concise statement, friendly to the reader.

Weaknesses: Needs to be condensed, a bit of a run-on. Remove “Lastly”. It’s a weak word, and the same applies as with the last sentence.
They’re is the wrong spelling.

i think my ski doos timing might be off because sometimes it wont turn off when i try to turn it off and somtimes when i turn it off it will make a put sound and if you dont give it a full pull over then it will stall then it will take like 10 pulls to start it. so if any one know if it is off timing or somthing else could you tell me and if it is timming then could you tell me how to fix it?

I don’t know what type of engine these have on them. If you can update with that info we may be able to help you. If you can give us year, engine manufacturer, and what horse power it is. Small engines use fuel shut off solenoids, ignition kill wires to ground the ignition, and flywheel brakes to shut off the engines just to name a few. It varies by application, but your problem does not sound like timing. If you update we will try to help. Good luck.
