Does Insurance cost less if you have an old snowmobile?
Posted on Aug 27, 2009 under snowmobile insurance | 1 Commenti have a 1970 ski-doo nordic and i heard that insurance cost less if u have an older sled. i want to know if that is true
No, because in most cases, you’re not insuring the sled itself. Only the LIABILITY, the damage you do to anyone else.

This snowmobile was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. CrankyApe.com employees attempted to start the unit. The sled fired up and just kept going. Someone had zip tied the throttle and circumvented the ignition. The snowmobile hit the proper RPM’s and took off across the warehouse until hitting a wall. The problem was that there was no way to turn the sled off. The studded track began to break apart and heavy white smoke (you could not see thru it) filled the warehouse. Finally CrankyApe employees moved the sled outside where it erupted into flames with the engine still going full speed…..and that’s where the video begins!!!

Whats laws are there in Illinois that regard utility trailers?
Posted on Aug 20, 2009 under snowmobile insurance | 1 CommentSo what laws are there in Illinois that regard a snowmobile trailer? I am looking to buy but I need to know about the laws. Do I need to buy plates? Insurance? OR anything else that regards a snowmobile trailer. I am just using the trailer to get the snowmobile from my house to the trails.
The trailer is a two place trailer and its 7×8. Also how much would plates cost if I do need them?
Trailers need a license plate, but your auto insurance should cover the trailer as well. The kind of plates you need depend upon the type and size of trailer.

The Outdoorsman Survival Card
Although outdoor pursuits are among the safest of hobbies, when snowmobilers and skiers, hikers and bikers, hunters and anglers, and other people who love the outdoors become injured or sick, they may be far from home. And although theyve geared up for all possible weather conditions and events, having an accident or illness is not part of the plan. They often leave out the most important piece of the adventure-security if something goes wrong! What if a program could help fill the voids in protection that exist in traditional or work-related insurance plans and it was as simple as having the Outdoor Survival Card in your wallet?
