We moved from a warm climate ,actually too warm for most.. We are now almost 9000 ft higher and so much more colder. We live in a rural place on the side of a mountain..We keep most of what we need here so we don't have to go to town, which is pretty lame because its so small that it just makes our needs such as items we need.Everybody calls here and says why aren't you out skiiing and four wheeler riding. We are in our fifities now so if you answer bare that in mind..Hopefully you will say what you feel but think in your minds that you are fifty..ok? But if you have everything you needed and have explored the mountains in the springtime and pretty much traveled everywhere you ever wanted to,and you really have no reason to go anywhere.Could you are do you stay in and stay at home as much as possible or do you go snag a snowmobile and get out in the cold and just stay on the road..Is is abnormal to want to just hang out at home?Ok remember in your 50's imagaine ok..coming from a warm one.
Oh yeah forgot to add 3 feet of snow with snow every other day and you haven't seen the ground since before dec..and everybody thinks you are nuts for not getting out more? I don't feel like we are but is there anyone anyone out there that would stay in and risk cabin fever or is there 50 and 60 years olds that would be playing in the snow everyday ?
Hey there!! I am in my fifties and used to live in the North Woods of Wisconsin. I stayed home by the fire as much as I could and loved it. I used to make a nice pot of venison stew and dumplings and keep the fireplace burning and the wood furnace cranked. I love being snowed in. it is awesome if you have someone that you care about snowed in with you. If you don't like your roomie much you could get a little squirrely I guess. I don't snowmobile or ski but I did a little four wheelin' and that was fun as long as I had a good heater in the jeep. You aren't abnormal, you just have a lot of wisdom. Enjoy your life and 'don't worry, be happy'!

My sister and brother in law said they couldnt get my brother and I (we are twins) a christmas present 2 christmas' ago, and for our last birthday (our 16th birthday)…I never complained because I knew they had rent to pay and groceries to buy and bills to pay. But now, this past christmas (2007) they are living with my brother in laws parents. They dont have to pay rent, they dont have to pay bills, get groceries, anything. They have a 400 truck payment (insurance included) and thats it. They told my brother and I they would get James (my brother) snowmobile snowpants to match his jacket, and me a playstation 2, because it is something we both wanted. I was SO excited to get the ps2 because I really want one and they were promising and getting me all excited about it. But then, my brother in laws snowmobile all of a sudden needs to be fixed…so they tell us they cant get us our christmas presents…they get $1200 every 2 weeks, $2400 a month. Do you think they are being selfish?
I thought I might be the selfish one…but when I thought about it…Ive never complained about not getting anything from them. But they got me so excited about the ps2 they were going to buy me for christmas, and then it was going to be "late" and then it was not at all…because they "cant afford it" because they need to get his sled fixed. But I just dont see how they cant affford it. They ahve 3 more truck payments then thats even 400 more dollars in there pocket…and they get a huge bonus in March. My sister brags about all this extra money she is getting and yet she cant afford $120 snowpants and $130 playstation 2?
Chakra you obviously didnt read the whole thing…they dont pay anything except 400 dollars a month. The rest is theirs to do with what they want, his parents dont make them pay anything. Most of there money is spent on cheeseburgers at burger king…
I have been quiet through everything. This is the only time I am upset because they PROMISED me a playstation 2, but went back on their word, when in all actuality they CAN get it. And if not that, then at least SOMETHING. She didnt get anybody anything for christmas except her husbands neices.
in the grand scheme of things, 2400.00 really isn't a lot of money. Adults have a lot of bills that might not be apparent you, even if they are living with relatives rent free. Sounds like they were having some sort of financial trouble, hence moving in with your brother in-laws parents.
With that being said, they should have still gotten presents. Nothing is worse than telling someone that they will get something, not following through. You're still young so it's tough to understand that things come up…but they should have considered your age before reniging on the gifts.

And how old do you have to be.
I ask this because now, you need to be 16 to operate a motor scooter
Every state has different law. Most are 16 min.
Check your state DMV homepage.

I am looking for a good snowmobile helmet and the best one I have had is the Skidoo modular but I gave it to my dad because I now ride Polaris. Any suggestions?
HJC and many other manufacturers make a modular helmet. You can still use a Skidoo modular while riding a Polaris. My brother does it. He likes the helmet, so he just took off the decals. You can find more helmets at DennisKirk.com or ShadetreePowersports.com.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.
The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.

Sure. I’d rather pay for that with tax dollars than pay for ACORN to sign up dead people and cartoon characters to vote democrat.

I am 14, I have a mini snowmobile, BUT it has a tractor engine in it, so technically and legally it is a tractor. Can I legally drive it around in my neighboorhood? Just on the sides of the roads? What I should also say is that it is a *LAWN MOWER TRACTOR” engine NOT a farm tractor. I was charged with failure to have insurance for it. But you can’t get insurance for it because it is classified as a lawn mower and they don’t allow lawn tractors to have insurance! Is that wrong? Because I am definitely gonna fight it
Talk to a lawyer. Taking legal advise from random people on the internet is setting yourself up for failure.

I pulled the start cord on my snowmobile, and it broke off. How can I repair this?
Take the cover off the pull chord. Retie the rope after winding the winder a few turns in the opposite direction and fishing it through the hole. That should let it wind back up.
You should look into an electric starter.
What type snow mobile do you have?
If it is a Yamaha:
Here's the Yamaha instructions for replacing the rope: The starter must be removed in order to replace the rope. The rewind spring should be wound into the housing, begining at outsiside and in a counter-clockwise direction. PRE-LOAD THE REWIND SPRING APROX. 1/3 TURN, to make sure that the handle is pulled back snugly when released, prior to re-installing the starter. That should be it, just turn it 1/3. Hope this helps, let me know if I can answer any other questions you might have!
